Ratiphan Bunthanorm (b.1954 Thailand)
I am a comtemporary collage artist with background in fashion design from Thailand, and later graduated from Visual Art program at Boxhill Institute.
My art practice is deeply rooted in my experience in design and Thai cultural heritage. My works are defined by a strong sense of colours, texture, composition and form.
I begin by using upcycled materials and my own photographs as primary sources of elements, which I combine with drawing and paint. The final compositions are created through paper cutting and collage techniques
At present I am exploring the interplay between colours, shapes of architecture and nature transformimg these subjects into visually dynamic and colourful surrealist forms.
I hope each piece of my work can provide a visual story and advanture, where the viewer is invited to explore the details within. |
