ARTIST BIO

My art is underpinned by a concern for the environment and replenishing what the modern human footprint has destroyed, closely aligned to my volunteer work with the local indigenous nursery and working in my own sprawling natural bush garden.

I work with watercolour, collage, paper sculptures and kinetic art. Always fascinated by the intricate patterns and designs of nature, my current work explores Australian native plants in their natural bush settings, focussed on capturing shapes and forms in their untamed state.

Trained in traditional methods early on, I soon found I was drawn to continual experimentation and discovery, playing around with tools and techniques and breaking established rules. My painting process mirrors the process of garden rewilding – using free-flowing paint and textures, overlaid with deliberately geometric and precise collage pieces, to replicate the interplay between natural and built environments.

I use painted watercolour paper, sealed to protect and strengthen, to make my paper sculptures and kinetic art.
